Operations Assistant
Location: London | Permanent
About the Role
Join the Operations team of a leading Lloyd's syndicate, supporting day-to-day syndicate operations. Take ownership of risk entry, data quality control, and message processing with direct interaction with underwriting teams. This role offers valuable exposure to Lloyd's market processes and a genuine opportunity to develop deep expertise in syndicate operations whilst building relationships across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely risk and aggregate data entry into core systems
- Conduct quality control checks on risk data, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with internal standards
- Process and validate USM (Underwriting Signing Messages) and SCM (Signing & Claims Messages) in line with SLAs
- Investigate and resolve message failures, exceptions, and queries
- Provide operational support to Underwriting teams, ensuring efficient processing of transactions
- Be a key contact for Underwriters, ensuring timely and accurate processing of risks
- Identify opportunities to improve process efficiencies and accuracy
- Contribute to continuous improvement culture through process insights and recommendations
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Lloyd's market processes and syndicate operations
- Exceptional attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, both individually and as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced IT skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Familiarity with London Market systems (e.g. PPL, Whitespace)
- Ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships across departments
Desirable
CertCII qualification (or active progress towards), knowledge of delegated authority and open market business, prior syndicate operations experience.
