Insight Recruitment Solutions is a specialist Insurance industry recruiter based in the City. The two founding partners have over 30 years recruitment experience gained with recognised and established recruitment firms.
Our team of consultants have extensive experience in placing Insurance professionals with a wide range of clients including Lloyd’s and company market underwriters, Lloyd’s brokers, general insurers, P & I clubs and industry service providers.
We utilise the full range of recruitment solutions from contingency through to retained search assignments. Using the team’s skills and experience, we will ensure that the right match is made in good time.

Robert Hopkins – Director
After an early career as an accountant, Robert switched to finance recruitment in 1994 and has specialised within the London Insurance market since 2000. His achievements include the establishment of a successful specialist insurance division within a leading recruitment group and the founding of Insight Recruitment Solutions Ltd alongside Paul Wise in 2008. This he has achieved by the development of longstanding associations with many of the industry’s major players.
Robert has extensive market experience and knowledge which he has used to benefit Lloyd’s and company market underwriters, Lloyd’s brokers, P & I clubs and service providers. The basis of his approach is to develop long term trust based business relationships.
When not in the office Robert enjoys spending time with his family, has recently started cyling, is an obsessive skier and is known to see the odd Shakespeare play or two.
Paul Wise – Director
A graduate of Manchester University, Paul began his recruitment career in 1997 recruiting within both the IT and finance sectors at global recruitment firms. In 2002 he joined a specialist financial services recruiter, where alongside Robert Hopkins was integral in the development of their insurance finance division. In March 2008, Robert and Paul established Insight Recruitment Solutions Ltd as dedicated supplier of professional staffing to the London Insurance market.
Paul has recruited individuals at all levels and has built a vast network of industry contacts. He is sensitive to the people aspect of the London insurance market and places the utmost emphasis on confidentiality. Paul utilises his extensive market knowledge to establish long-term and mutually beneficial relationships.
With a growing family at home, Paul doesn’t get much time for himself! He enjoys music and plays the guitar, watches and plays football and runs to keep fit (and to keep up with the children!).
Tom Shorto – Senior Consultant
Tom started his recruitment career specialising within the London Insurance Market in 2004. In January 2010 he had the opportunity to join Insight to set up Insight’s Technical Insurance division.
He has built a strong network due to his personal approach. He is passionate about his candidates’ careers and he is dedicated to offering relevant, knowledgeable and honest advice throughout the entire recruitment process.
Outside of work, Tom has played rugby throughout teens and early 20’s. He was scouted to join the Saracens Academy but Injury put hamper to his playing career. He now enjoys going to the gym, hiking, and watching sport in his spare time.
Paul Brown – Senior Consultant
Paul is a lifelong insurance professional having enjoyed a successful pre-recruitment career in both the Lloyds and general insurance market. Since moving to the recruitment industry Paul has created two insurance divisions from scratch and naturally with his wealth of industry knowledge is able to provide the most insightful service to clients and candidates alike.
To relax Paul is an avid football fan and will often be found gracing the stands of his favourite North London football team!
William Donnelly – Consultant
Prior to joining Insight as a resourcer in 2012, he had nine months recruitment experience working for an international recruitment firm. This followed a period of seven years where he worked in various client facing roles within the general insurance market. He won employee of the year in his first job, and continues throughout his career to win honours and awards within all the companies that he has worked for. As a resourcer, he excels in maintaining excellent rapport with candidates, providing them with up to date insights and helping them find their best role in the industry which in turn gives clients a more productive and effective employee.
When William isn’t at work, he enjoys watching rugby and F1 and indulging in his passion for history.
Georgina Nottage – Senior Administrator
Georgina joined Insight towards the end of 2011 where she runs the Administration function effectively and professionally. She manages the CRM system, ensuring that all CV’s are accurate and is the main point of contact for managing the temporary payroll and dealing with any queries.
In her spare time, Georgina enjoys running, fitness training and reading… or so she tells us!
Chris Wawn – Director
Chris brings a wealth of business experience to Insight having a broad exposure to the financial services including board positions ranging from a trust company, an insurance underwriter and a private bank. Chris has a BA (Hons) from Keele University and is a Chartered Manager. Chris provides much of the infrastructure support to Insight including strong corporate governance, company secretarial and operational management
Chris has an extremely colourful life outside of business and is a published author and member of the Territorial Army, and has recently returned from Afghanistan.
